Quiet a lot of people have a problem with excessive sweating. In the medical community, this problem is referred to as hyperhidrosis, and the purpose of this article is to give you a better understanding of this, so that you are in a position to do something about it$in order to help you to fix your sweat problem. People affected by hyperhidrosis can sometimes break out in sweats even when the temperature is cool, or when they did not engage in any kind of activity, but just sat or laid quietly and unmoved. Oftentimes emotional factors can lead to excessive sweating for these people: for example, when they are embarrassed, experience feelings of shame, fear, guilt or anger. Even the anticipation of Sometimes just expecting these feelings can lead to excessive sweating.

Since the word "excessive" is not so easy to define, there are some objective tests that can help you to determine whether you are actually suffering from hyperhidrosis. (Sometimes people are just too concerned about sweating at all). There is a certain test that is called the "Paper Test" What doctors call the "Paper Test" can help you to figure it out. A special certain kind of paper is placed positioned on your skin the part of your body that is affected by excessive sweating. The paper absorbs the sweat, and is then weighed. Off course, the heaver the paper, the more sweat is has absorbed If you have a problem with excessive sweating, then the paper will be heavier than in people with normal sweating. Things that doctors want to know are since when you experience this, when does it occur, whether there are certain kind of triggers that cause the excessive sweating, if you have a problem with cold hands cold and clammy hands, where the sweating occurs most commonly, and so on.

Excessive sweating can be caused by a couple of factors. Primary hyperhidrosis is when a person has (almost) has their excessive sweating all their life. It usually starts in late childhood or during adolescence. Secondary hyperhidrosis on the other hand can occur at any point in life, even in seniors. Secondary hyperhidrosis can be a sign of various medical conditions, including hyperthyroidism, tuberculosis, heart conditions, stroke, cancer, acromegaly, Parkinson's disease and others. It is also common among women during menopause and pregnancy. However, in most cases excessive sweating it not a symptom of a serious problem, but rather harmless. Keep in mind that sweating is a normal and healthy function of the body to regulate it's own temperature.

Deodorants and antiperspirants are the ordinary treatments for sweating that most people use. However, they are not necessarily an appropriate measure to deal with severe excessive sweating. Another common choice is iontophoresis. Iontophoresis works specially well for people who have sweaty hands or feet. Mild electric currents are used to temporarily disable the sweat glands, thus reducing sweating. Most dermatologists prefer this treatment for palmar and plantar hyperhidrosis. For axillary hyperhidrosis botox injections are more popular. However, the problem is that they have to be repeated every couple of months. They can be quiet costly Botox treatments are pretty expensive, and there is still some debate about risks associated with botox injections maybe you have read about the dangers of botox. That is why many people prefer natural methods to cure hyperhidrosis.
